Your parsing seems rather curious, which makes me wonder if perhaps the problem you are having here is actually one of understanding the source text? Maybe this will help: "...unless sufficient cause be shown to the Court ... why the said decree should not be made absolute.." with the middle ellipsis replacing the subordinate time clause: "...within six weeks from the making thereof..."
The 'making thereof' refers back to "the decree made ... on the XX May 20XX..."
In other words, once the 'decree nisi' has been made, there is a 6-week period in which objections can be raised, after which time the 'decree absolute' can be made. |
