More than one but only in one site as member Jun 21, 2017

I think many translators register in some sites but for me, I only focus and paid member on proz.com. I do not know whether I will also try other sites in the future.

Proz, TC and the FB group TTNS, but it's been so long since I last accessed Translators' café that I don't remember my login details...

Same here. I don't even remember the email address I used to sign up at TC, let alone the password.

Aside from ProZ I'm also listed on the BDUE - which has brought me a few clients.

Several, but only active here Jun 21, 2017

Questions like these highlight the fact that, some 15 years after its launch, proz.com does not have any real competition as a portal for freelance translators.

This is certainly wonderful news for proz.com. Whether it is also wonderful news for freelancers is a different question entirely....

Don't understand the question Jun 21, 2017

Is this about portals such as ProZ, or such as instances of Plunet and similar? Many agencies let you "register" on their website through some portal-like thing just to have your data in their system, and may or may not ever contact you after that.

Four? Jun 21, 2017

I think, four. But the only one I open as soon as I turn on my PC and stays online until I turn it off is ProZ. And it's also the only one I'm a paying member at. I have no idea what's going on in the other ones, except the translators' discussion pages in FB, which I don't think should be called "portals".

...and a complete waste of space they are. Jul 23, 2017

Don't think a single one of my clients (I have about eighty who are active in any given year) came to me through any of the many portals. Word of mouth comfortably the most important, followed by agency staff moving from one bureau to another but taking names with them, followed by our website.
