Description: Hello proZ,

I am a Greek to English translator, currently in regional Greece (Chania, Crete).

I would like to move to Athens (Greece) to work, and as part of this, to board / share a home with 1 or 2 people (translators, academics, teachers and similar), quiet people really who are thinkers, who live in Athens, speak English and who have a spare furnished bedroom in their home or apartment which they would like to share.

I would like the accommodation to be available for at least 1 year. It can of course be longer, if we all like, but a minimum of 1 year to share your home is needed at this point. I don't think I would like to go to the effort of moving to Athens for anything shorter than that.

My background:

I am an English/Literature teacher, Social Worker and most recently, a Library Technician, (I like learning).

I hail from Melbourne Australia, where I was born, raised and have lived most of my life. I am of Greek background, so am bi-lingual and bi-cultural.

As a new arrival within translating, I have thought to begin to contact translators to enquire if they know of colleagues and friends based in Athens (central or suburbs) who would like someone to share their home or apartment with.

As mentioned, my requirements would be a furnished bedroom with a few key things: a bed, wardrobe, table/desk and chair.

My imperatives are a safe and peaceful home environment. A decent place to live with 1 or 2 nice people.

They do not have to be Greek. They do have to speak English, for us to be able to communicate.

I myself am a quiet, cleaning living person. I am a non-smoker and non-drinker. I like walking, going to the cinema and attending informative cultural and educational events.

I would be able to contribute up to 150 euro for the room and use of utilities (electricity and water). The other daily expenses would be my own, including the telephone.

My timeline to move is fairly flexible, and would be around mid April 2014.

Also, as mentioned above, I would like to be able to stay at the home for at least 1 year. Even longer, if we all liked that idea.

Should anyone know of quiet, clean living people within translating or teaching or general academia who live in Athens Greece (central or suburban) and who have a spare furnished bedroom in their home or apartment which they would like to share, kindly email to let me know.

My 2 email for contact are: [email protected] and [email protected]

Looking forward to some suggestions.

Thanks in advance
