I am bilingual, as I began learning Italian as a child, since my mother was Italian, and my family visited Italy during the summer. Also, I lived in Italy as an adult for 18 years, during which time I worked both as a university instructor in English as a Second Language and as a translator (since 1987).  I returned to the USA in 1999 and moved to Israel in 2016. 

EXPERIENCE: Over my 34 years as a professional translator, I have handled virtually every kind of material imaginable, including poetry, tourist brochures and websites. Specialties include medical literature (case histories, medical and pharmaceutical studies, drug information sheets) and scientific texts in general; mechanics (instruction manuals and the like); the legal sphere (contracts and charters); literary (newspaper articles, etc.); marketing/advertising and general translation (letters, official documents, CVs, etc.). I have extensive experience in the automotive field, as gained over a long-term assignment for an Italian agency, which involved translating and revising owner and shop manuals for Lamborghini. I also have extensive proofreading experience in the scientific field; namely, in medical research and genetics, where I have proofread and corrected countless articles written by professors and researchers who write in English but are non-native speakers. I have also performed proofreading/editing in other sectors – primarily in advertising and marketing.

Services include post-editing, both light and full.
