English to Spanish: Genocidio Detailed field: Law (general)
Source text - English Genocide
The last war has focused our attention on the phenomenon of the destruction of whole populations -of national, racial and religious groups - both biologically and culturally. The German practices, especially in the course of occupation, are too well known. Their general plan was to win the peace though the war be lost, and that goal could have been achieved through successfully changing the political and demographic interrelationships in Europe in favor of Germany. The population not destroyed was to be integrated in the German cultural, political and economic pattern.
In this way a mass obliteration of nationhoods had been planned throughout occupied Europe. The Nazi leaders had stated very bluntly their intent to wipe out the Poles, the Russians; to destroy demographically and culturally the French element in Alsace-Lorraine, the Slavonians in Carniola and Carinthia. They almost achieved their goal in exterminating the Jews and Gypsies in Europe. Obviously, the German experience is the most striking and the most deliberate and thorough, but history has provided us with other examples of the destruction of entire nations, and ethnic and religious groups. Translation - Spanish Genocidio

Source text - English B. The applicant’s detention pending trial
23. The applicant was arrested on 22 August 1997. On 23 August 1997 he was brought before an assistant investigator who charged him and decided that he should be remanded in custody. The detention order, which was made on the basis that the applicant was charged with a serious offence, stated that there existed a danger of the applicant’s absconding or committing offences, without providing reasons. It was either authorised in advance or approved on the same day by a prosecutor.
On 25 August 1997 the applicant appointed a lawyer to represent him.
1. The first appeal against detention
24. On 3 September 1997 the applicant’s lawyer prepared an appeal to the Plovdiv District Court against his client’s detention pending trial. The appeal was submitted through the District Prosecutor’s Office, as required by Article 152a § 2 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
There is a dispute between the parties as to the date on which the appeal was actually submitted to the District Prosecutor’s Office. The applicant maintains that the appeal was handed over to the duty prosecutor on 3 September 1997 who, in accordance with the usual practice, transmitted it to the clerical staff without registering it himself. According to the Government, the date on which the appeal was registered, 8 September 1997, should be considered as the date of its submission, there being no proof that it had been submitted earlier.
Translation - Spanish B. La detención preventiva del demandante
English to Spanish: Searching for philosophy in literature: educational complications General field: Social Sciences Detailed field: Education / Pedagogy
Source text - English Introduction
The usual connection between literature and philosophy in classroom consists in the tendency of (a more or less philosophical) exploitation of more or less philosophical elements in the literary texts and rarely or never the opposite. Literature seems to be a tank for the “pumping” of different elements that could be in different ways elaborated during the educational procedure conforming to the aims that this procedure adopts. On the other hand, this tendency reveals more the will or the need on behalf of the educational procedures to use different materials from different cognitive areas with the aim to serve general educational objectives, than to reveal the particular constitution of each area and material. The hasty passage from the particular role that each discipline can play in the construction of the meaning of the world and of its understanding to the general rules and terms defining this understanding hides a strong movement of moralization, the development of a rhetoric about thinking, feeling and reflection (usually in the frame of a restrained, closed rationalistic logic) which except confusion, can generate sperms of indoctrination .
