Source text - French Le chat dans le sac, avec ses dialogues (en voix directe ou off) et ses silences, laisse peu de gens indifférents. La revue Cahiers du cinéma, dans un article sur la cinquième édition du Festival international du film de Montréal (FIFM), célèbre le long métrage de Groulx pour sa capacité de synthèse et le caractère authentique de ses discours [8]. La revue Objectif, quant à elle, publie une critique élogieuse du film ainsi qu’un entretien avec son réalisateur. L’entrevue que mène Michel Patenaude révèle un cinéaste engagé qui s’apprête à prendre position tant au plan cinématographique qu’idéologique. Groulx note qu’au Québec on devient intellectuel par nécessité : « Je ne pouvais pas devenir un homme d’action dans un pays où l’action n’est pas possible [9] ». Ceci explique l’importance qu’il accorde à la parole. Cette dernière se doit d’être improvisée puisque Groulx n’a que très peu de temps (et d’intérêt) pour l’écriture de dialogues. Dans un texte publié en août 1964, Rudel-Tessier critique cette tendance vers l’improvisation. Selon lui, les protagonistes parlent, mais disent très peu. Il qualifie le film de « mortellement long [10] ». Harold Whitehead, journaliste pour The Gazette, regrette aussi que l’on doive écouter le film plutôt que le regarder : « [Le chat dans le sac] is a film that you must listen to and that approach, to my mind, is a complete negation of what a film should be [11] ». Whitehead déplore le fait que Groulx maintient ses personnages dans l’inaction. Jean Pierre Lefebvre répond à plusieurs de ces critiques lorsqu’il écrit :
« Le chat dans le sac est un film de situations et il est évident que quelques-unes d’entres elles exigent un dialogue, aussi que les entrevues ; mais dans l’ensemble elles sont muettes, intérieurement muettes. C’est la sensibilité intérieure du personnage qui s’exerce, se découvre et cherche à se définir par rapport à tout ce qui l’entoure et surtout par rapport au dialogue lui-même, qui au reste s’éteint à mesure que le film progresse et laisse place à un silence beaucoup plus troublé et troublant [12] ».
Le film témoigne d’une démarche incertaine vers l’accomplissement et l’actualisation de soi. Les inquiétudes que Groulx documente ne se traduisent pas en action à l’hiver de 1964. Moments de réflexions, échanges enflammés, discours contradictoires et paradoxaux, silences et paroles vides ont donc leur place dans ce long métrage.

It is the inner sensitivity of a character that makes efforts, discovers himself, and seeks to define himself in relation to everything around him; especially in relation to the dialogue itself, which, moreover, fades out as the film progresses and is replaced by a much more troubled, and troubling, silence."
The film bears witness to uncertain progress toward accomplishment and self-actualization. In the winter of 1964, the malaise that Groulx documented did not translate into action. Thus, moments of reflection, heated exchanges, contradictory and paradoxical speeches, silences, and empty words all have a place in this feature film.

La Iglesia de Dios Ministerial de María Luis Piraquive, incluida en la demanda, busca que les sean concedidas medidas cautelares.
La Comisión Interamericana de Derechos Humanos aceptó una demanda presentada por la Iglesia de Dios Ministerial y el movimiento político MIRA, por discriminación religiosa y segregación.
La Comisión estudiará la posibilidad de concederles medidas cautelares a los líderes de la Iglesia, así como a dos dirigentes políticos, luego de que a través de un pool de abogados documentaron ante ese organismo, más de 100 casos de ataques físicos, violencia contra sus sedes y amenazas de muerte a través de las des sociales.
De acuerdo a la demanda internacional, a raíz del escándalo mediático el que se vio involucrada la iglesia con la publicación de un video de la pastora María Luisa Piraquive, ella y otros líderes de esa congregación fueron objeto de amenazas de muerte y de secuestro, supuestamente de parte de bandas criminales y de las Farc.
La Fiscalía General de la Nación tiene en sus manos copias de por lo menos 500 mensajes vía Twitter y Facebook, en los que se ofrece dinero a quien atente contra la líder espiritual o cercene uno de sus miembros, en clara alusión al discurso de ella en uno de los cultos, referentes a las personas discapacitadas. Los casos documentados incluyen fotografías de las sedes de la iglesia que han sido incendiadas y violentadas, acompañadas estas agresiones de grafitis amenazantes.
Esta demanda se conoce en momentos en que en un primer informe, la Fiscalía aclaró que pese a las múltiples tareas de Policía Judicial, "hasta el momento no existen indicios claros de vínculos de la pastora Piraquive con organizaciones criminales dedicadas al narcotráfico", desestimando preliminarmente la hipótesis de que a través de los diezmos la iglesia lavaba dinero de organizaciones criminales.
Tras aceptar la demanda, la Comisión Interamericana ya decidió pedir a autoridades colombianas información sobre las denuncias y el trámite que éstas han surtido ante los fiscales. Los abogados de la iglesia y del partido MIRA, presentaron como antecedente ante la comisión, el caso del alcalde de Bogotá, Gustavo Petro Urrego, pues también se declaran "perseguidos políticos".

The María Luisa Piraquive Church of God Ministry of Jesus Christ International, included in the complaint, asks for protective measures.
The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights upheld the complaint filed by the Church of God Ministry of Jesus Christ International, and MIRA, a political movement, on the grounds of religious discrimination and segregation.
The Commission will study the possibility of granting protective measures to the Church leadership, as well as to two political leaders, after a pool of attorneys presented the organization with over 100 cases of physical attacks, violence against its facilities, and death threats over social media.
According to the international complaint, in the wake of the media scandal involving the church with the posting of a video by Pastor María Luisa Piraquive, she and other leaders of that denomination were subject to threats of death and kidnapping, supposedly by criminal gangs and the FARC.
Colombia’s Attorney General’s Office has copies of at least 500 Twitter and Facebook messages offering money to whoever would attack the spiritual leader or harm one of the church’s members, a clear allusion to the speech she made at a service referring to handicapped people. The documented cases include photographs of church buildings that have been set fire to, vandalized, and defaced with threatening graffiti.
This case is being heard at the time when, in an initial report, the Attorney General’s Office made it clear that, despite the many tasks of the Judicial Police, “at this point there is no clear indication of links between Pastor Piraquive and criminal drug-trafficking organizations,” thereby preliminarily rejecting the hypothesis that the church was using its system of tithes to launder money from criminal organizations.
After upholding the complaint, the Inter-American Commission decided to ask Colombian authorities for information on the claims and the procedures carried out before their prosecutors in their regard. The lawyers for the church and the MIRA party submitted as background information the case of the mayor of Bogotá, Gustavo Petro Urrego, because they also declare that they are subject to “political persecution.”
