German term

Urteilsumdr.

German to English Law/Patents Law (general) Abbreviation used in court references
Grateful for an expansion of this abbreviation - there are relatively few Google hits (220) and none that I have spotted that appear to offer the term in full.

It appears in a list of references in court documents (pleadings etc.) - any example taken from Google will serve as context, e.g.:

(BGH, Nichtannahmebeschluß vom 30. Oktober 1986 - III ZR 262/85, WM 1987, 307, 308; Nichtannahmebeschluß des Senats vom 18. Februar 2003 – XI ZR 138/02, *Umdr.* S. 3; BGH, Urteil vom 22. Oktober 2003 - IV ZR 398/02, *Urteilsumdr.* S. 12 f. und jüngst Senatsurteil vom 18. November 2003 - XI ZR 332/02, *Urteilsumdr.* S. 13).

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks to all for the speedy responses - while I was really only seeking confirmation about the abbreviation (Umdruck vs. Umdrehung - I thought of both options too!), the extra reference info is appreciated."

judgment dispatch

It's short for "Urteilsumdruck"

Maybe judgment copy would work better. I see it's a common term and an Umdruck is a sort of engrossment or copy.

Urteilumdrehung

something like sentence reversal?

I found Umdreuhng used in texts other then technical:
Culler offers an example from Nietzsche that provides an excellent example of the ju-jitsu of deconstruction. (He) argues that causality is not something given, but is the product of a rhetorical operation, a chronological reversal (chronologische Umdrehung).

I found it as "judgment reprint", however, it was a machine translation, that means translation by a server on Dictionary.com; the best case is when translation is by a competent live person.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Jochen König : Sorry, but there is no legal term like Urteilsumdrehung. That would be Urteilsaufhebung.

I agree, it is Umdruck. Wonder is Umdruck = reprint.
