al emisor, para que comunique con el receptor (o viceversa)

Creo que "instar" para "nudging", "darle un toquecito" (diríamos en España), sería adecuado.

"Upstream", literalmente "río arriba", indica como "respuesta" o como comunicación "de receptor a emisor", o viceversa.
