French term

Financement de x% du mobilier en dotation produit en valeur PVC

French to English Marketing Business/Commerce (general) in-store displays
The documents presents a package offered by the brand (the author) to selected retailers for the promotion of the brand's products in store, which involves new display units.

This phrase is listed under "Engagements écrits" (pertaining to the investment contract).

I am wondering whether the above phrase is not simply two terms: "financing of x% of the display units provided" + "products marked at RRP". That is plausible when you see how the entire sentence is written (below).

"Engagement écrits: Financement de x% du mobilier en dotation produit en valeur prix de vente conseillé (PVC) A Moduler en fonction de la négociation"

If these are not two seperate terms, that makes this phrase a lot harder to understand, with some link between the selling price and the display unit financing.

Thanks as always.

The sentence is ambiguous for one reason: the expression 'dotation produit'.

This expression is in fact an accounting concept. It means that the allowance is not monetary. Instead, it is a quantity of stock products with a monetary value..

x% financing of the RRP of display units

My view is that the author is saying they will finance a certain percentage of the RRP of the display units.
Note from asker:
Very interesting - I think both are possible, and this calls for a note to the client.

x% financing of the display units, through products at RRP

The brand will provide retailers with product(s) to showcase in the display unit(s), said product(s) valued at the recommended retail price. The total product value will equal a fixed percentage (x%) of the value of the display unit(s) being financed.

In the real world, it means that if your furniture bill is $1000, you pay cash $1000-% furniture financing, and the rest consists in getting extra furniture pieces with a value equal to % financing.

Merci François. Le fait que votre interprétation diffère de celle de Louise atteste de la faible qualité de cette phrase.
