Just waiting to award points. I am with you, Agneta. I ended up using Pavel's nebulous musings as my final answer. I find it, with all due respect to Pavel on this occasion, a bit obnoxious with non-committal suggestions, especially coming from men. I say throw yourself on the front-lines and put up a suggestion for a translation. If you are wrong, nothing especially bad happens. Nobody ever died from egg on his face.

Now, that said, there is no risk since the client was happy with the translation. So Pavel, post it as a real entry and points are waiting for you!

@ safeTex and all Pavel put the best suggestion in as an afterthought. I don't know if he could boost in up to being his principal suggestion. The rest of us are too polite, I suppose, to put it in as our own suggestion!

From a press release about such an installation Maskineriet består av ett övermaskineri och ett undermaskineri. Övermaskineriet består av ett antal vinschar. Varje vinsch är kopplat till ett rå. Ett rå är den stång som används till att hissa och sänka en kuliss. Rået sitter horisontellt och hänger parallellt med scenöppningen. Undermaskineriet innefattar bland annat lyftbord för person, "dekorlyft och radiostyrt scenpodie."
As Deane says, it is Pavel's second suggestion that is the right one.
