I'm working on a text where the girl's father is a doctor.

Does this mean that 'Death isn't a calculation/estimation but fate.'

رفع المسحوق بين أصابعه يتأكد من طحنه جيدا، نفض ما علق بين أصابعه، ثم قال:
-الموت ليس تقديرا بل قدراً ومهمة الطبيب التقدير أما القدر فلرب القدر

And then he's saying a doctor's job is to estimate?
