factored values (in calculations)

"Determine the design groundwater profile. Eurocode 7 Clause 2.4.6.1(8) states: “Design values
of groundwater pressures may be derived by applying partial factors to characteristic water pressures or by applying a safety margin to the characteristic water level...”. In the case of design approaches using ***unfactored*** water loadings (such as Design Approach 3 or Design Approach 1 Combination 2 – see Section 9.6.3.6), this is straightforward. Where the loadings are ***factored***, however, a normalisation procedure can be adopted, whereby the variable element of the flood groundwater level is factored upwards by the ratio of the partial factors γQ/γG before being added to the characteristic permanent groundwater level."

I am just wandering if it translates as "...valeurs factorisées / non-factorisées..." - Have always been useless at mathematics !

valeurs pondérées

In this context, it seems to mean just a weighting factor.

More weighted responses are always welcome :-)

Thank you... Has anyone ever suggested you could be a "live" version of Speedy Gonzales...? (with all due respect !) It did cross my mind, but... Will allow a few other helpful colleagues some time to come up with alternatives since it only took you 7 minutes to reply. :-)

Thanks claude-andrew. I think the principle in your references is the same even though the area differs.

valeurs avec facteurs partiels

factors applied to geological water pressures to take account of conditions other than normal circumstances.

See the English version page 32 and the corresponding French version page 39. The context is very different (Landing distance of a Boeing), but "pondérée" and "non-pondérée" are both used. NB I am not a mathematical expert.
Note from asker:
Haven't looked at references yet, but thank you any way for the suggestion... Since your ref is to Boeing, and although I don't look forward to flying, have been around the world some umpteen times, and remember well a flight between Delhi and Bombay (sorry, Mumbai...). we landed in 3 places on the way, it was a DC9, and the landings were very rough. So I candidly asked the captain what length of runway he needed to land the plane safely. His answer left me silent: "We could do with 1/3 more..."!!!
