I am working on an architectural document on the design of a large department store.
I have come across the word 'portant' several times and have translated it as 'rack', but I'm am now confronted with this point (1 of several).
- 130 racks type étagères + 50 types portants (5 portants toute hauteur +25 double hauteur)
Does anyone have any suggestions ?

i work in retail and the racks described are four-way portable garment racks. toute hauteur is an adjustable arm that goes up and down. sometimes the arms are straight or waterfall. the double hauteur is usually a non-adjustable 4 armed garment rack with one level for example for skirts the other for tops, etc.
