German to English Medical Medical: Dentistry Platelet Rich Plasma Use in Dentistry

From a text about the use of platelet rich plasma in dentistry. I've temporarily set aside the one about augmentative therapy of jaw defects, which is proving to be quite soul-destroying. This text is shorter and for the most part easier, but I can't make any sense of "Vertreiber" in this context. Surely "Verteiler" must be meant?

I also have some major issues with the whole sentence in which Vertreiber is contained. Why is "sollten" used to refer to studies that have been published rather than ones that will be published? And what on earth is "mit neuen Fragestellungen nachvollzogen" supposed to mean?

Really then, I need help with the entire sentence. TIA. I am still awaiting an answer to this question:

There's another one too that I asked HOURS ago that I'd really appreciate some assistance for. A link to that is in the question above. TIA again.

vertreiben=distribute,
Non-ProZ.com Dec 11, 2004:
Oops I'm forgetting there's a passive form "nachvollzogen werden". So "nachvollzogen" is NOT a mistake - sorry. Reassessed sounds rather good in this context.
Non-ProZ.com Dec 11, 2004:
Thanks Ingrid So is the use of "nachvollzogen" a mistake? Should it in fact be "nachvollziehen"? And Vertreiber is a mistake too, it seems, because they really mean "Verteiler" (distributor, as you say).

1. Vertreiber = distributor

2. "sollten" does not refer to the studies but to "nachvollziehen" and in this context I would translate it with "verify" or even "re-assessed".
The studies that have been published should be verified (re-assessed) by means of new questions....
Peer comment(s):

agree MMUlr : with distributor and also answer 2. - for distributor, is also "supplier" ok, or is that identical to "manufacturer"?

agree Derek Gill Franßen : The term "reassessed" is great; maybe even just "repeated". @MMUlr: As far as I know, the 'usual' translation for "supplier" is "Lieferant"... :-)

agree Protradit : From my point of view the studies published so far should be multifocal and reproduced with new formulations of problem regardless of the manufacturer or distributor.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "I have subsequently found that distribute is indeed a translation of vertreiben. I got thrown by looking up "Vertreiber" - could only finds translations like "expeller", which clearly didn't make sense. Thanks also for your help with "sollten ... nachvollzogen" - I'll go with reassessed, as that makes good sense. Thank you very much for your help - I greatly appreciate it, even if I was a bit slow on the uptake there! Thanks also to the peer graders for some helpful comments."
