Antwortverhalten

German to English Medical Psychology
The text runs: (intuitiven mütterlichen Antworthverhaltens; n. Aintsworth) and either I'm not looking in the right place, or Aintsworth should be Ainsworth.

Discussion

Armorel Young Jan 5, 2010:
nach Ainsworth? I suspect that n. means "nach Ainsworth" and that the maternal behaviour in questions was measured using the Ainsworth sensitivity scales (there are lots of refs. to these, e.g.

Nineteen mothers and their developmentally delayed infants, participants in an infant stimulation program, were observed in their homes. Observers described the infants' behavior using the Waters and Deane (1985) Attachment Behavior Q-sort and the mothers' interactive behavior with the Pederson and Moran (Pederson et al., 1990) Maternal Behavior Q-sort. The infants' therapists completed ratings of maternal sensitivity and involvement using the Ainsworth (Ainsworth, Bell, & Stayton, 1971) sensitivity scales, the Caldwell and Bradley (1984) HOME inventory, and the Bromwich (1981) Parent Behavior Progression.

If that is so, one might even want to use "intuitive maternal sensitivity" in the translation.

Just out of interest (because you haven't given any context): what does "n. Aintsworth" mean? If it's someone's name, it seems a coincidence that it's similar to "Antwort".

response behaviour

Would be the ususal translation of Antwortverhalten - and I agree with you that the name is probably intended to be Ainsworth.
Note from asker:
Many thanks for your prompt answer - glad too that you agree with the Ainsworth!
