German to English Social Sciences Social Science, Sociology, Ethics, etc. Sociology of Work
Ziel: Ableitung von Gestaltungsempfehlungen bei der Konzeption und Vergabe von leistungsbezogenen Entgeltbestand teilen.

From a Sociology of Work text. I can only find "derivation" (mathematical sense) in Google and it doesn't seem to fit here.

I'd use one of the above. I agree that derivation doesn't work too well because you feel the need for something from which it is derived.

It's a verb! gerund, actually

Not "derivation" but "deriving" - try "Goal: deriving recommendations for ..."
