German term

Multiplikator-Innentätigkeit

German to English Social Sciences Social Science, Sociology, Ethics, etc. Disabilities

It's small text about a consultancy company who advises on employing people with disabilities. This is about their training course fpr consultants. The term 'Multiplikator' always confuses me, but here it is the "Innentätigkeit" I'm not sure about. Can anyone help?

Discussion

Carolyn Brice (asker) Apr 18, 2006:
Yes That's a valid point. They do use this throughout the text so it's possible. I hadn't thought of reading it like that, it certainly makes more sense!
Cetacea Apr 18, 2006:
That couldn't possibly be a typo for "MultiplikatorInnen-Tätigkeit" by any chance? This capitalized "-Innen" inside a word is the (IMO awful) German way of including both men and women in a job description.

or "acting as a multiplicator".

Since we both seem to be reading it this way... ;-)

agree Ingeborg Gowans (X) : this seems to clear up the surrounding text and fits better

Thanks, Ingeborg. Isn't it amazing what difference the position of one little symbol can make...?
agree C. Peter : I like the second version - and it's rather 'multiplier'

Thanks, but the job is indeed called "multiplicator". There are various web sites that will tell you what it involves, if you're interested.
neutral Craig Meulen : I know this is an old question, but looking thru the Kudoz archive for "Mulitiplikator" I found this and can't believe that "multiplicator" is really a word in English.... Where are those various websites?!
