Swedish term
hyggesvila
Swedish to English
Tech/Engineering
Forestry / Wood / Timber
Eftersom antalet snytbaggar minskar med hyggesåldern kan det ha en positiv effekt på plantöverlevnaden om man väntar några år med planteringen, så kallad hyggesvila.
I am improvising here with "harvesting breaks" (i.e. the time between felling/harvesting and replanting a clearcut), but I'm wondering if anyone has found the proper terms for this.

leave cut-over dormant
Hygge is referred to as cut-over area/slash area/clear-cut area (and a few other things). This reference shows how the local experts discussed your term in Eng. "the cutover should therefore be left dormant" (last page of https://www.skogforsk.se/contentassets/ed61ec1c16bd46bcb2273... ).
But I haven't been able to find a specific term that is widely used, tho there's a lot of reading out there.
