İnanılmaz güzellikte bir dünyada yaşıyoruz. Sayılamayacak kadar çok hayvan ve bitki, baş döndürücü bir çeşitlilik, akıl almaz bir renk cümbüşü... Ve bütün bunların arasında, insanları on binlerce yıldır bir yaratıcının varlığına ikna eden, tesadüf olması olanaksız gibi görünen bir uyum. Bir bitkinin yaprakları mor, bir kuşun gözü mor rengi daha iyi seçiyor, kuş o bitkiye konuyor, yaprakların üzerinde biriken suyu içiyor, konmuşken bitkinin üremesini sağlıyor.
Ve yaprağın rengi, kuşun sesi insan beyninde heyecan uyandırıyor. Ve bitki, kuş ve insan sonsuz doğal kaynakların, doğal güzelliklerin içinde yaşıyor.

Ama akıllara durgunluk verecek bir gıda zenginliğinin ortasında, insanlığın önemli bir kısmı açlıktan ölüyor. Sadece Afrika’da değil. Amerika’da, dünyanın en zengin ülkesinde, kötü beslenmeden kaynaklanan verem gibi hastalıkların arttığı anlatılıyor. New York sokaklarında ancak dilenerek karnını doyurabilenler İstanbul’dan daha fazla.
Bilim kurgu yazarlarını bile hayrete düşürecek bilimsel, tıbbi ve teknolojik bir gelişmenin ortasında, insanlığın bir kısmı daha bir yaşına basmadan ölüyor, çaresi bilinen hastalıklardan ölüyor, temiz su bulamadığı için ölüyor, soğuktan ölüyor, sıcaktan ölüyor, sel veya deprem geldiğinde uyduruk binalarda yaşadığı için ölüyor.
Bir gezegen ve altı milyar insan. Gezegenin kaynakları ve insanların bilgi düzeyi ve toplam üretim altı milyarı beslemeye bol bol yetiyor; altı milyarın hepsi için elektrikli, sulu, sağlam ve ferah konutlar inşa etmeye bol bol yetiyor; altı milyarın hepsinin eğitimini ve sağlığını sağlamaya bol bol yetiyor. Ama bu altı milyarın önemli kısmı aç, konutsuz, eğitimsiz, sağlıksız.
Günümüzün dünyasına anlam vermek gerçekten de mümkün değil. Niye böyle olduğunu anlamak mümkün, ama bunu anlamlı, normal, kaçınılmaz bulmak mümkün değil. Altı değil altmış milyar insanı bile besleyebilecek bir dünyada, milyonların açlıktan ölmesi nasıl normal olabilir?
Önce bunun “anormal” olduğunu kabul edelim.
Sorun sadece açlık değil ki. İnsanlar doymak ve yaşamak için gerekli işlemleri yaparken, bunu iklim değişikliğine yol açmayacak, ozon tabakasını delmeyecek, nehirleri kurutmayacak, toprağı zehirlemeyecek, diğer canlıları yok etmeyecek şekilde yapabilecek bilgiye ve teknolojiye sahipse ve yine de bunlar yapılıyorsa, burada bir “anormallik” daha var.
Anormallik maddi durumdan kaynaklanmıyor. Öyle olsa, “N’apalım” derdik, “yeterince gıda üretemiyoruz, bazılarımız ölüyor” veya “İklim bizden bağımsız olarak değişiyor, engellemiyoruz”.
Hayır, sorun bizim dışımızda, objektif bir sorun değil. Sorun altı milyar insanın birbiriyle ilişkilerini örgütleme biçiminde.
İnsan toplumunun bu örgütlenme biçimine, sevenler de sevmeyenler de, memnun olanlar da olmayanlar da, “kapitalizm” diyor. Başka ne özellikleri olursa olsun, bir yandan müthiş bir zenginlik yaratırken, bir yandan da insanlığın dörtte üçünü bu zenginlikten tamamen mahrum eden bir örgütlenme biçimi, açık ki, insanlığın bütünü açısından yararlı, anlamlı, normal bir sistem değil.
İnsan kendi hayatında “anormal” olduğunu düşündüğü, yanlış bulduğu bir durumla karşılaştığında ne yapar?
Durumu değiştirmek için bir şeyler yapar, adım atar, değil mi?
Ben bu nedenle sosyalistim. Ya siz?

We are living in a world of incredible beauty. Countless animals and plants, a dazzling variety, a fantastic festivity of colors ... And among all these, a harmony which seems impossible to have occurred by chance and thus has convinced the humankind of the presence of a creator for tens of thousands of years! A particular plant has purple leaves, a particular bird's eye chooses purple better than the others, it lands on those leaves, drinks the water that's collected on the leaves and by doing that ensures that the plant reproduces.
And the color of the leaves, the bird's voice wakes an excitement in the human brain. And plants, birds and humans live within infinite natural resources and natural beauty.
I sound like a hippy, right? No. The world is really like that. Everything necessary for human happiness is in place (except for immortality and true love, but that's fine). All material needs of the world population can be met today, right now. People who are well fed, who have a roof above their head, protected against harsh weather conditions and who do not need to support that roof with a stick in their hands, can -right today- begin enjoying watching the purple leaves and get free of their reins holding their creativity and start producing things that we can't even imagine now.
But they do not begin. We do not begin. We all know that we must begin, that this has to be so, that we can live like that but it doesn't happen.
However, there is no material reason for this not to happen. If we look at it as a whole, there is no poverty in the world, no scarcity.
But in the middle of the vast abundance of food, a significant part of humanity are dying of hunger. Not only in Africa. It is said that In America, the world's richest country, diseases such as tuberculosis caused by poor nutrition are on the rise. There are more people who can only find food by begging in the streets of New York than in Istanbul.
In the midst of all the scientific, technological and medical developments that will even amaze the science-fiction writers, part of humanity die before the age of one; die due to diseases to which cures are known; die due to lack of clean water; die of cold weather; die of hot weather; die due to flooding or earthquake because they live in a shitty building.
One planet and six billion people. The planet's resources, the people's knowledge level and total production is ample enough to feed all the six billion; to build comfortable and solid houses with electricity and water for all the six billion, to meet the education and health needs of all the six billion. But an important part of this six billion is hungry, without proper housing, uneducated, unhealthy...
To give meaning to today's world really is really not possible. To understand why this is so is possible, but to find it meaningful, normal and inevitable is impossible. In a world where not six but even sixty billion can be provided for, how can it be normal for millions to die of hunger ?
First, we shall accept that this is "abnormal"
The problem is not only hunger, either. If people have the necessary knowledge and technology to not pollute the environment, not damage the ozone layer, not cause climate change, not pollute the soil and not destroy the wildlife while doing things that are necessary to feed themselves and to live, but they still do all these, then there is something “abnormal”.
This abnormality does not arise from material reasons. If that was the case, we would say "What to do? We just can't produce enough food, so some of us are dying" or "Climate change is independent from us, we cannot prevent it”
No, the problem is not independent of us, is not an objective problem. The problem is the way the six billion people organize themselves in their relations with each other.
This kind of organization of people is called -by all those who like it or not, who are pleased with it or not- “capitalism”. Whatever other properties it has, an organization that creates a wild richness but at the same time deprives one third of the world from that richness, obviously is not a system that is normal and beneficial to the whole of humanity.
What would a person do when he faces something “abnormal” or wrong in his life ? He would take a step to change the situation or to make it right, wouldn't he ?
This is why I am a socialist. How about you ?

We have visitors from all over the world in a variety of countries and of varying ages and interests. Because of this, rules have been set to ensure chatters can enjoy themselves and chat with minimal annoyances.
1.) Please chat in English or Japanese (romaji) ONLY!
We have many visitors from countries all around the world who often speak very different languages. To make the chat understandable for the majority of users, we have decided that ONLY English and Japanese (typed in romaji) should be spoken on the channel.
2.) NO ASKING for girls, guys, Japanese people
#Japan is NOT a pickup channel! If you want to chat, you should be able to do it
regardless if the other chatter is male/female/Eskimo or whatever.
Those questions are just annoying, please don't do it.
3.) NO ASKING for op/voice status
OPs and "voices" asking is a BIG taboo! If you are a nice person
showing up regularly and chatting regularly, the OPs WILL notice it sooner or later
and might "reward" that with a " " in front of your Nick.
That does NOT mean, that you will get a " " whenever you join,
so please don't be sad if you don't receive it. You are able to chat without it and it does not make ANY difference at all for chatting purposes.
People who ask for OP/ v are instantly placed WAY back in priority and will most certainly vanish from the channel sooner or later, if not immediately removed. Please don`t do it.
4.) NO asking for asl, translation requests, swearing and other lameness
You can have a nice chat with people regardless their age, gender and location.
# Note Just asking where somebody is from IS NOT = "ASL" and thus allowed, however, not everybody necessarily feels like sharing that info with you.
Many people join the channel asking for translation of some anime related things or other stuff. Often without even saying a simple greeting to the channel at all.
That is most annoying as we join the channel for chatting and NOT to translate somebody's anime or homework. You can find many Japanese translating resources on the web. Please see our Links section for some examples.
Using expressions that are considered foul, vulgar, sexually harassing, racially offensive*, or in any way discriminatory will result in instant removal from the channel. These expressions include, but are not limited to, ethnic slurs, hate speech, ideological discrimination, and religious epithets. Whether an expression fits under this definition will be determined by the active staff.

We have users of all ages, minors as well and we will remove any person

If you paste an irrelevant URL in the channel, you will most likely be instantly removed. This is a necessary precaution due to spammers. IF you want to HELP somebody with an URL of any kind, please do it via private message or /notice . To protect everybody's privacy we do NOT allow emails, telephone numbers or IDs for other networks (yes, Friendster too) to show up in the channel.
7.) NO unauthorized bots / clones / scripts
If you want to chat, just ONE IRC-client will do fine. There is no need to
join the channel with clones or even bots.
Please switch OFF automatic scripts like seen, ping, mp3 when in #Japan
8.) NO spamming, excessive repeating, or excessive use of capitals
There is no need to keep repeating something you say. Saying the point ONCE will suffice. If you feel that you need to make an emphasis on a single word, capitalise that SINGLE word.
9.) NO complaining about the rules
These rules have been decided upon to make this channel as enjoyable as possible for the majority of chatters. If you do not agree with the rules, you are able to find another channel, there is nothing binding you to this channel. Please avoid expressing your disagreement of certain rules. b) During the Prosecution: to be informed of the proceedings, to attend the public prosecution, to ask for samples of documents and reports through his attorney, to request for calling of witnesses, request for a lawyer from the bar association, -provided that he had attended the trials- to make use of the legal appeal procedures against the court decisions, (If the victim is below 18 years old, deaf or mute or impaired in any way that affects his ability to express himself and does not already have an attorney, without asking for his consent an attorney will be appointed to him.) These rights were EXPLAINED to the individual CLEARLY.
The individual said “The above particulars are mine and correct. I have read my legal rights described in CMK Act Number 5271, understood and I would like to make my deposition freely on the respective matter” and his deposition was recorded.
I entered Turkey from Istanbul Atatürk Airport Border Gate, on 25.12.2009 as a social visitor and checked-in to Hotel Inter. On the day of 02.01.2010 at 23:25 my group of university students and I boarded the tram from Tophane and at 23:45 alighted at Beyazıt Tram Station. When I reached for the side pocket of my bag to take my handphone I noticed that the zipper was unzipped and my purse was missing. Thinking that I might have dropped it I went back to the tram station, however, I could not find it and concluded that it must have been stolen. The purse contained 2000US Dollars in cash, a golden pair of earrings with diamond stone worth 2000USD and a Samsung mobile phone, of which the IMEI number I don't know, worth 300USD. I do not know exactly where my purse was stolen. The tram was very crowded and most probably it must have been stolen in there. I am lodging this complaint about the person or the persons who have robbed my purse and I would like to sue them, and if they are caught I request for the legal proceedings to be carried against them.
By the order of the Chief Public Prosecutor and in accordance with the Article 253 of CMK Act, the nature of settlement and legal consequences of accepting or declining a settlement offer has been clearly and in detail explained to the complainant in line with the law that concerns the following clause: that a court case will not be opened if the accused admits his responsibility due to his crime which is covered under settlement, the victim accepts the offer and all the respective parties agree on the settlement; otherwise the investigation will continue and if sufficient evidence is collected a court case might be opened and if within 3 days a decision is not submitted the offer will be considered declined; in the case of not being found in the declared address or being abroad or being unreachable for any other reason, without seeking consent for settlement the investigation will be concluded.
The requirements of Article 234 of CMK Act have been fulfilled. Upon the complainant's statement that she has nothing else to add to her deposition, this report has been prepared and ,after reading and verifying its accuracy, signed by those who are present.
