Unsere Reaktion auf Feedback hat viel damit zu tun, wie wir mit unserer eigenen inneren Kritik umgehen. Mitunter *leiden wir an inneren Stimmen*, die sehr viel vernichtender als die Kritik von außen sind - gerade deshalb verletzt Kritik von außen dann ganz besonders, weil sie diese "wunden Punkte" berührt.
To suffer from inner voices? Just "hearing" inner voices would not take into account that the person suffers or am I wrong? Thank you for suggestions.

: It's not "the" standard term in every context and IMO it doesn't work here - whose voices? And why suffer "from"? [Confidence 5??] // Suffering here is caused by what 'voices' say, not their existence. No suggestions from me - excellent answer above ;-)

I can tell you that in NY, there is lots of talk of people "hearing voices", "suffer from"? what would you suggest in that phrase?
