Hello
I'm doing a review where the translator is excellent but translated "ägarföretag" as investor.
I was sure it was a mistake but searches on Internet show him to be right.
I simply would like a confirmation that this is correct and how this Swedish word can come to mean "investor" rather than something like "holding company" or even "investment company"?
It just seems so absurd to me.
Thanks

If this is EU-speak, your term is correct. To me this would depend on ur context. This reference (http://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/SV/TXT/?uri=CELEX:320... involves an EU regulation adopting an IAS standard. Your stuck with the Swe translation of this regulation if that is your context.
Let me know if this isn't ur context.

Comment: "The same translator later used "investor company""

owner company
Seems to be a reasonable translation...
