After earning my Bachelor’s Degree with distinction in English Literature and Language at the University of Virginia, I began a career in social research and publishing. Consistently praised for my writing and eager to apply my skills more specifically, I moved to Italy in 2007 to hone my father-tongue and establish a career in translation. While my work in research has aptly prepared me to translate texts of an analytical nature, my skills are best expressed in material that benefits from an artistic approach. As such, I specialize in the areas of literature, narrative, marketing, tourism, and gastronomy—not because they are accessible, but because they are exceptional. They require an eye that sees intent as well as meaning, and an ear that hears cadence as well as syntax.

Some of my projects have included guidebooks, biographies, tradeshow and conference websites, PR and marketing materials, and articles for both cultural and scientific journals. I am always interested in expanding my client base and strengthening my experience through new linguistic challenges, and I am happy to complete test translations to this end.
