I am a professional writer who also works as a paralegal. I have more than 25 years experience in both fields.

I am also a professional freelance translator from German to English. I have experience translating legal, medical/life-sciences, automotive, patents, technical-scientific, and general documents. My projects have included, all forms of contracts, court documents, all forms of litigation documents, terms and conditions, leases, GDPR related documents, scientific articles, patient reports, clinical trial agreements, SOPs and other technical documents.

As a paralegal I have served for over  20 years as the trustee of the a legal defense fund involved in legal matters that implicate rights guaranteed under the U.S. Constitution. In that capacity I have been involved in complex civil and criminal cases, business transactions, immigration matters, patents and copyrights. During the course of my career I have been involved in legal matters in Germany and U.K. In this regard I have had to translate court rulings, contracts and other legal documents from German into English. I have a knowledge of the different legal terms and procedures and find the corresponding terms and concepts among the three different legal systems.

As a professional writer I have written essays and lectured on science, culture, politics, art, history and economics. In the course of my research I have translated historical scientific works, modern technical papers, contemporary news articles, and cultural essays from German into English.

For the past 15 years I have served as the secretary-treasurer of the U.S. branch of an international cultural institute. In this capacity I have been involved in international conferences, seminars and writing projects in the U.S. and Germany. I have translated several poems and essays of Friedrich Schiller.

I am also a performing classical musician (double bass). As such I can translate works about music from German to English.
