Source text - Hungarian „Ezt nem veszem be” – válaszolta Stefan Füle új bővítési EU-biztos arra a felvetésre, hogy sokak szerint Horvátország csatlakozása után bővítési szünet következik, és jó ideig nem fogadnak be újabb tagjelölteket az Unióba. Bár a biztos a bővítést az uniós külpolitika legsikeresebb részének tartja, annyit elismert, hogy a gazdasági válság idején az emberek inkább a háztartási költségekre, nem pedig a kibővített Európa előnyeire figyelnek.
Lezárulhatnak ez év végéig a felvételi tárgyalások a horvátokkal, ha az ország addig elvégzi a maradék házi feladatait, a belépés legkorábbi időpontja pedig 2012 lehet. Noha a szomszédos Szlovénia (a határvita miatt) sokáig blokkolta a csatlakozási tárgyalásokat, a volt NATO-diplomata fontosnak tartotta megjegyezni: egyetlen tagállam, nem pedig a bővítés kedvezőtlen megítélése okozta a késedelmet. A biztos ugyanakkor elképzelhetőnek nevezte, hogy a nyugat-balkáni térségben további megoldatlan viták „aknái” bukkannak fel: a horvát–szlovén konfliktus mellett ott van mindjárt a macedón–görög névvita. A fő feladat éppen ezért felkutatni és időben hatástalanítani az efféle „gyújtóanyagot”.
Néhány EU-tagállam megpróbálta ugyan lebeszélni Szerbiát, hogy beadja a csatlakozási kérelmet, ám ezt tavaly decemberben Belgrád mégis megtette. Füle megjegyezte: ezek az országok sem azért akarták lebeszélni a szerbeket, mert nem ítélték őket elég felkészültnek, hanem mert az időzítést tartották szerencsétlennek. Még mindig nem fejeződött be például az EU–szerb stabilizációs és társulási megállapodás ratifikációja.
A következő állomás a tagság felé vezető úton az lenne, hogy az Európai Bizottság véleményt mond a szerb csatlakozási kérelemről – ám ezt csak akkor teheti meg, ha a tagállamok felkérik rá. Stefan Füle bizakodó, mert a tavaly év végi EU-csúcson a tagországok kilátásba helyezték, hogy később visszatérnek erre a témára: így talán már ekkor zöld utat adnak.
Még Törökország kapcsán sem veszti el a derűlátását az EU-biztos, aki szerint az elmúlt hónapokban a tagállamok elkötelezettebbé váltak a török csatlakozás iránt. Noha német és francia politikusok korábban EU-tagság helyett inkább különleges partnerséget ajánlgattak a törököknek, még e két meghatározó uniós tagországot sem látja Füle a felvétel akadályának.
Egyetértés van egyelőre abban, hogy a csatlakozási folyamat Törökország és az Unió számára egyaránt előnyös: mindenképpen ösztönzi például a török társadalom demokratikus nyitását. Ezenkívül azzal is tisztában van mindkét oldal, hogy a szavahihetősége forog kockán. A törököknek az ország megreformálására tett vállalásaikat kell teljesíteniük, az EU tagjainak pedig nem szabad megfeledkezniük arról, hogy egyhangúlag elkötelezték magukat, és – ugyancsak egyhangú döntéssel – megkezdték a felvételi tárgyalásokat.
Translation - English “I don't buy that,” – said Stefan Füle, the new EU enlargement commissioner, in response to the view shared by many that Croatia's accession will be followed by an enlargement pause and that no new candidates will be admitted to the EU for some time. Although the Commissioner considers enlargement to be the most successful aspect of the EU’s foreign policy, he acknowledged that in times of economic crisis, people tend to be more concerned with household expenses rather than the benefits of an enlarged Europe.
Accession negotiations with Croatia could be concluded by the end of this year if the country finishes its homework by then, with the earliest possible date for its joining of the EU being 2012. Although neighbouring Slovenia blocked accession negotiations for a long time (due to territorial disputes), the former NATO diplomat thought it important to note that the delay was caused by a single Member State rather than the negative perception of enlargement. At the same time, the Commissioner said it is possible that further “landmines” of unresolved disputes could emerge in the Western Balkans: the Croatian-Slovenian conflict and the Macedonian-Greek naming dispute, to name but two. The main task is therefore to detect and disarm such “incendiary material” in time.
Serbia submitted its application for membership last December, despite several attempts by some EU Member States to dissuade the country from doing so. Füle noted that the reason for these attempts at dissuasion was not that they considered Serbia unprepared to join, but rather that the timing for its accession is problematic. For example, Serbia's ratification of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the EU is still pending.
The next step in its process to join the EU would be for the European Commission to give its opinion on Serbia's application – but it can only do so if requested by the Member States. Stefan Füle is optimistic, because, during the EU summit late last year, the Member States promised to come back to this issue later, meaning that Serbia could get the green light in the near future.
The EU Commissioner maintained his sangfroid even on the subject of Turkey, saying that in recent months Member States have become more committed to Turkish accession. Although German and French politicians have previously offered Turkey a special partnership rather than EU membership, not even these two key EU Member States are seen by Füle as an obstacle for the country’s accession.
For the time being, there is agreement that the accession process is beneficial for both Turkey and the EU. For instance, it will certainly encourage a democratic opening of Turkish society. Both sides are also aware that their credibility is at stake. Turkey must deliver on its commitments to reform the country, and EU members must remember that they have unanimously committed themselves to opening accession negotiations, also by unanimous decision.

Source text - German Die Briten haben sich für den Brexit und damit für einen Austritt aus der EU entschieden. Für den (Online-)Handel und das Import- und Export-Geschäft ist der Exit problematisch.
Brexit (Britain und Exit) ist nicht mehr nur ein Wort, sondern seit dem 23. Juni 2016 Realität. Die Briten haben sich in einem Referendum mit denkbar knappen 51,9 Prozent für einen Austritt Großbritanniens aus der Europäischen Union (EU) entschieden. Die Brexit-Befürworter konnten vor allem in England und in Wales viele Stimmen einsammeln, vor allem ältere Bürger sprachen sich gegen die EU aus.
Neben der Ernüchterung bleibt die Frage: Was nun? Schon jetzt erlebt das Pfund den größten Kurssturz der Geschichte und rauschte auf 1,33 US-Dollar herunter - der tiefste Stand seit 30 Jahren. Natürlich stürzten auch die Kurse der Banken: Der Dax startete schon am Montag mit einem Minus von knapp zehn Prozent. An der Börse in (der ehemaligen britischen Kronkolonie) Hongkong ging es prozentual zweistellig abwärts. Um es kurz mit den Worten des Bundeswirtschaftsministers Sigmar Gabriel (SPD) zu sagen: "Damn! Ein schlechter Tag für Europa".
Auch wenn keiner die genauen Folgen jetzt schon voraussehen kann - es gibt noch zu viele Unabwägbarkeiten, Stichwort Schottland - steht doch eines fest: Der Brexit wird negative Folgen für die EU haben. (Noch-)Premier David Cameron etwa erwartete schon im Vorfeld "ein Jahrzehnt der Ungewissheit", laut EU-Ratspräsident Donald Tusk wird eine Neuordnung sieben Jahre dauern. Ein Aspekt dabei sind die ökonomischen und wirtschaftlichen Konsequenzen für Europa, die natürlich den Offline- wie Online-Handel einschließen.

As of the 23rd of June, 2016, Brexit is no longer just a word, but a reality. In a historic referendum, the Brits have decided that their country should leave the European Union (EU), ending the vote with a narrow margin of only 51.9 per cent. Brexit supporters were able to collect a lot of votes, especially in England and Wales, with older citizens in particular being vocal critics of the EU.
Other than a somewhat unexpected feeling of disillusionment, a question remains: What now? The British pound is already experiencing its biggest drop in history, having plummeted to 1.33 US dollars - its lowest value in 30 years. Unsurprisingly, bank shares also fell, the German stock index having reported a 10% drop last Monday. The Hong Kong stock market was also hit hard, with a drop that entered double digits. To put it briefly in the words of Sigmar Gabriel, Germany's Federal Minister of Economics, “Damn! It’s a bad day for Europe’’.
Even if the full extent of the aftermath is still unknown as of yet – there are too many uncertainties (keyword “Scotland”) – one thing is certain: Brexit will have negative consequences for the EU. There will be ‘’a decade of uncertainty,’’ according to (still) Prime Minister, David Cameron. However, Donald Tusk, the President of the European Council, is more optimistic, expecting seven years for a “reorganisation”. One aspect of this is the economic and commercial consequences for Europe, which of course include both traditional commerce and e-commerce.

Source text - Hungarian Vércse szelte át a sűrű, vibráló égbolt végtelen narancsvörösét. A ragadozószem megakadt a
langymeleg szélben fodrozódó, aranyló búzakalászok között megbújó, sötét ponton. Lejjebb
ereszkedett, szárnyaival finoman siklott a felszálló, meleg áramlatokon. Lassú körözésbe kezdett, fejét
jobbra-balra forgatva mérte fel célpontját. Egy méltatlan vijjogással nagyot csapott, és egy kósza szellő
társaságában tovaszállt a búzatenger felett.
A könnyű bőrvértbe öltözött katona követte a madár mozgását, majd visszatekintett arra a pontra,
ahol a vércse körözni kezdett. Mélyet sóhajtott.
– Nem hozlak ki! – kiáltotta bele búzakalászok soraiba. Válaszul a szél borzolta fel az arany mezőt.
– Mondom, nem megyek utánad! – mondta egy kis idő múlva. – Itt hagylak a sakáloknak!
Csend. A távolban tehénbőgés jelezte a gazda érkezését. A katona kifújta sötét szemébe lógó, őszbe
hajló, sötétbarna tincsét, majd leugrott szürke csődöréről. Merev, egyenes tartással gázolt a búza közé.
Tisztában volt vele, hogy már nem fiatal a felderítéshez és az orkok utáni hajszákhoz. Azzal is tisztában
volt, hogy pontatlan, felületes taktikai gondolkodásmódja nem hozott számára magas tiszti rangot és
helyet az őrgróf védelmi tanácsában. De mikor történt meg, hogy a sok harcot megjárt katonából
gyermekcsősz lett?
Bájos kacaj rebbent fel a sűrűből, amikor közeledett a vércse mutatta helyre.
– Lyrella! – próbálkozott utoljára. – Ha a dadád meglátja, megint milyen mocskos a ruhád, az én
bőrömből csinál tarisznyát!
Nevetést hallott. Megvetette a lábát, mint az ugrásra készülő öreg farkas. Hallgatta az apró lábak
neszezését, figyelte az elhajló kalászok nyomát. Aztán elszökkent. Mozgása már rég nem volt olyan
gyors, mint néhány holdévvel ezelőtt, de az idővel a tapasztalata is előre haladt. Egy hét holdévet
megélt leány pedig nem vehette fel a versenyt a Durga-hegységet megjárt veteránnal.
Jobbra mozdult, mégis balra kapott. Hegek szabdalta ujjai rákulcsolódtak a vékony karocskára,
többször zúzott csuklóját puha, mogyoróbarna hajtincs simította végig. Önkéntelen elmosolyodott,
ahogy magához rántotta az elkószált apróságot.
Lyrella von Ravarel fonatából kiszabadult loknijai közül sárga kalászok kandikáltak ki; ezüst szálakkal
hímzett, raldeani stílusú, sötétkék ruhájának széle helyenként felszakadt; vékony, finom papucskáján
vastag porréteg sárgította el a fehér szalagokat. Őzbarna szeme fényesebben ragyogott a Durgahegység mélyén fekvő fénykövektől, szeplős arca az őrgróf várát szegélyező berkenyék pirosát öltötte
magára. A hosszúkás, levél motívumos, türkizkék szelence, amelytől soha meg nem vált volna, vidáman
himbálózott a nyakában. És a nevetés. Egyetlen gyermek kacaja sem jött még ennyire szívből.
– Mégis utánam jöttél, Warrin! – mutatott a lány a katonára.
– Most igen – válaszolt arcán bujkáló félmosollyal Warrin. – De egyszer megunom, hogy mély
árkokba, elhagyott romok között és tüskés bokrokkal teli erdőkbe kajtassak utánad. És akkor ott
hagylak.
– Dehogy hagysz! – vigyorgott a kislány. – Egy napot se bírnál ki nélkülem!
– Ó, dehogynem! Mindent megadnék egy olyan napért, hogy Melise asszony ne oktasson ki, hogyan
kell egy őrgróf lányára vigyáznom. Akár még a sakáloknak is ott hagynálak!
– Hazudsz! – csapott a kemény bőr mellvértre az apró ököl. – Hazudsz, hazudsz! Valld be, hogy nem
tennél ilyet! Az én lovagom vagy, a lovagok pedig megvédik a nemes kisasszonyokat!
– Könnyebb az olyan nemes kisasszonyokat megvédeni, akik a négy fal között hímeznek és nem
kóborolnak el a határban.
– Ó, jaj!
– Mi az, Lyra?!
– Nézd a papucsom!
Lyra felemelte a lábát, Warrin pedig térdre ereszkedett, hogy jobban szemügyre vegye a valaha
szebb napokat megélt topánkát.
– Mit kellene látnom?
– Nézd meg közelebbről!
Warrin elengedte a kislány karját, hogy a vékony lábfejet közelebb emelje szeméhez. Csengő kacaj
úszott a levegőbe, a topános láb eltűnt a kezéből és a búzakalászok jobbra balra dőltek az elsuhanó
leány elől.
Translation - English A falcon streaked across the endless fiery orange hue of the vibrant sky. The predator's eyes were fixated on a dark figure hiding among the golden stalks of a wheat field, which rippled in the lukewarm wind. The flying creature descended lower, its wings gliding gently over the warm, rising currents. It then started circling slowly, turning its head from right to left, sizing up its target. With a graceful shriek, it flapped its wings, and took advantage of a stray breeze to launch itself over the golden field.
The soldier, dressed in a light leather vest, followed the bird's movements and then looked down at the point, above which the predator had started circling. He sighed deeply.
– I'm not going to chase you in there! – he shouted towards the ranks of wheat plants. The only response that came was the sound of wind stirring through the wheat.
– I said I’m not going to chase you! – he said after a while. – I’ll leave you to the jackals!
Silence. In the distance, a cow bellowed to signal the arrival of the farmer. The soldier blew at a dark-brown lock of greying hair that hung in front of his dark eyes, and jumped off his grey stallion. With a straight and sturdy gait, he walked into the wheat field. He knew that he was too old for scouting and chasing down orcs. He was also aware that his imprecise, sloppy tactical thinking had kept him from earning himself a high officer rank and a place on the Marquis’ Defense Council. But how did he, a veteran of countless battles, end up a childminder?
Charming laughter burst from the thicket as he approached the spot the falcon had indicated.
– Lyrella! – he tried one last time. – If the nursemaid sees how dirty your clothes are again, she’ll fashion me into a satchel!
He heard laughter. He planted his feet firmly on the ground, like an old wolf who was ready to pounce. He listened to the sound of tiny feet, scanning around for the sight of braids. Then, she made a run for it. The soldier's movements were not as fast as they had been even a few lunar years ago, but his skills and experience had only gotten better with time. The girl, who was only seven lunar years of age, was no match for a veteran of the Durga Mountains.
He moved to the right, but then grabbed to the left. Scarred fingers clung to thin, little arms, as soft, hazel locks of hair brushed repeatedly against his bruised wrists. He smiled involuntarily, as he pulled the stray little thing towards him.
Lyrella von Ravarel's hair was woven into a beautiful braid, sprouting golden locks; her dark blue, silver-thread-embroidered Raldean dress was torn in several places; a thick layer of dust had yellowed the white ribbons on her thin, delicate sandals. Her hazel eyes glowed like the light-stones from the depths of the Durga Mountains, and her freckled face was red like the mountain ash flowers that lined the Marquis’ castle. The elongated, leaf-patterned, turquoise-blue satchel, which she would never have parted with, dangled merrily around her neck. And the laughter. The joy in her laughter surpassed that of any other child.
– I knew you'd come, Warrin! – she pointed at the soldier.
– I did, this time. – Warrin replied, trying to hide the smile that was forming on his face. – But, one day, I'll get sick of chasing you into ditches, abandoned ruins and forests of thorns. And then, I'll just leave you there.
– No, you won't! – the little girl grinned. – You wouldn't last a day without me!
– Yeah, right! I'd give anything for a day where I wouldn't be lectured by Madame Melise on how to care for a marquis’ daughter. I could even leave you for the jackals!
– You're lying! – the tiny fist struck his boiled leather chest plate. – You're lying! You're lying! Admit it! You are my knight, and knights protect noble ladies!
– It's easier to protect noble ladies who don't stray from within the four walls and wander into the borderlands.
– Oh, no!
– What is it, Lyra?!
– Look at my sandals!
Lyra lifted her leg and Warrin knelt down to take a closer look at the once immaculate shoes.
– What should I be seeing?
– Take a closer look!
Warrin let go of the girl's arm to lift the small foot closer to his eyes. A ringing laughter resonated through the air, and the sandaled foot disappeared from his hand. The wheat stalks parted as the girl bolted away through them.
