Indigenous peoples from all regions of the world depend upon the natural environment. Their rich and detailed traditional knowledge reflects and embodies a cultural and spiritual relationship with the land, ocean and wildlife. However, human activity is changing the world's climate and altering the natural environment to which Indigenous Peoples are so closely attached and on which they so heavily rely.
In a very real sense, therefore, Indigenous Peoples are on the front lines of climate change. They observe climate and environmental changes first-hand and use traditional knowledge and survival skills to adapt to these changes as they occur. Moreover, they must do so at a time when their cultures and livelihoods are already undergoing significant changes due, in part, to the accelerated development of natural resources from their traditional territories stimulated by trade liberalization and globalization.
Reflecting their position as "stewards" of the environment and drawing upon their age-old traditional knowledge – the heart of their cultural resilience – Indigenous Peoples were among the first groups to call upon national governments, transnational corporations and civil society to do more to protect the Earth and human society from climate change. The Indigenous Peoples' Global Summit will bring together 200-300 indigenous participants and observers from around the world to pursue four key objectives:
1. Consolidate, share and draw lessons from the views and experiences of Indigenous Peoples around the world on the impacts and effects of climate change on their ways of life and their natural environment, including responses;
2. Raise the visibility, participation and role of Indigenous Peoples in local, national, regional and international processes in formulating strategies and partnerships that engage local communities and other stakeholders to respond to the impacts of climate change;
3. Analyze, discuss and promote public awareness of the impacts and consequences of programs and proposals for climate change mitigation and adaptation, and assess proposed "solutions" to climate change from the perspective of Indigenous Peoples; and
4. Advocate effective strategies and solutions in response to climate change from the perspective of the cultures, world views, and traditional knowledge of Indigenous Peoples, including local, national, regional and international rights-based approaches.

Los Pueblos Indígenas de todas las regiones del mundo dependen de su entorno natural. La riqueza y minucioso detalle de sus conocimientos tradicionales reflejan y personifican una relación cultural y espiritual con la tierra, el océano y la fauna. Sin embargo, la actividad humana está cambiando el clima mundial y modificando el medio natural al que los Pueblos Indígenas están tan estrechamente ligados y del que dependen enormemente.
En el sentido más real, por lo tanto, los Pueblos Indígenas se encuentran en primera línea del cambio climático. Son testigos de primera mano del cambio climático y medioambiental y utilizan sus conocimientos tradicionales y técnicas de supervivencia para adaptarse a estos cambios justo cuando suceden. Además, tienen que actuar así cuando sus culturas y elementos de sustento están ya sufriendo significativos cambios debido, en parte, a la acelerada explotación de los recursos naturales dentro de sus territorios tradicionales, todo ello incentivado por la liberación del mercado y la globalización.
Debido a su papel de ‘cuidadores’ del medio ambiente y haciendo uso de sus ancestrales conocimientos tradicionales – principal elemento de su identidad y resistencia cultural – los Pueblos Indígenas han sido los primeros en solicitar a sus gobiernos locales, corporaciones transnacionales y a la sociedad civil hacer más esfuerzos para proteger al planeta Tierra y a la humanidad del cambio climático. La Cumbre Global de los Pueblos Indígenas reunirá a 200-300 participantes indígenas y observadores de todo el mundo con el objetivo de lograr cuatro objetivos principales:
1. Consolidar, compartir y extraer lecciones de las opiniones y experiencias de los Pueblos Indígenas de todo el mundo sobre los impactos y efectos del cambio climático en sus modos de vida y su medio ambiente, incluyendo respuestas;
2. Aumentar el reconocimiento, participación y papel de los Pueblos Indígenas en proyectos locales, nacionales, regionales e internacionales que diseñen estrategias y en asociaciones que hagan participes a las comunidades locales y otras instituciones interesadas para entre todos responder a los impactos del cambio climático;
3. Analizar, debatir y promover la concienciación social sobre los impactos y consecuencias de programas y propuestas encaminados a la mitigación y adaptación al cambio climático, y evaluar “soluciones” propuestas para el cambio climático desde la perspectiva de los Pueblos Indígenas; y
4. Abogar por estrategias efectivas y soluciones en respuesta al cambio climático desde el punto de vista de la cultura, la visión del mundo y conocimientos tradicionales de los Pueblos Indígenas, incluyendo propuestas basadas en los derechos locales, nacionales e internacionales.

Ayuda de Latin Smile-UK
Podremos donarte una ayuda de £10 por semana. Este dinero te podrá servir para gastos de llamadas de teléfono, uso de computadora u otro gasto del inicio de tu búsqueda por ayuda hacia LS-UK
Durara la ayuda solamente por 8 semanas iniciales. Haciendo un total de £80
El pago de £80 se te realizara:
A-Por cheque a tu nombre y enviado a tu dirección.
B-Tres días útiles después de tu hacernos llegar tu compromiso firmado a nosotros. La copia del compromiso esta al final de este documento
DE TU GANANCIA 100%
Es simple; por ejemplo si tú consigues un donante quien desea apoyarnos con £10 por mes, tú recibirás £10 más el 100% de ese valor, es decir £20.

Explicaciones:

Fund-raisers are people specially invited by Latin Smile UK to carry out the work involved in raising funds for the charity.
The Latin Smile-UK fund-raiser will be in charge of spreading the work of this British charity among family, friends, colleagues.... He/she will mainly focus on seeking donors for the organization. Financial support has become a vital factor for the smooth running of our laudable humanitarian work.
It is advisable that fund-raisers have an accurate knowledge of the activities implemented by Latin Smile-UK. Among them: helping Latin Americans living in London with alcohol and drug related problems and providing humanitarian help and financial and volunteering support to several communities in Latin America.

FUNDS RAISING SYSTEM
The Latin Smile-UK fund raising system is original, honest, simple and easy.
It could result in an extra source of income for you.
Details and advantages:

You decide the extra income amount
You are able to work comfortably from home
You set up your own working schedule
An assessment of your work progress will be carried out every two weeks. This includes a list of your registered donors, contacts, proof of your work, problems arisen, questions... This report could be sent via email every 2 weeks. Personal meeting will take place if required by either party.
The fund raising agreement may be terminated by either party giving notice by post or email.

A fund-raiser´s main activity is to look for donors willing to offer financial support to our charity. This is a vital aid for us. Without the inestimable help of generous people we can not keep up with our activities and grow in order to improve the lives of many.
From our experience, we can affirm that you will always find generous people committed to the Latin American reality here in UK. At the same time, donors could also be people living in other countries of Europe like Spain, Italy, France, and also in USA and other world countries.

Start by making a list of possible donors among your acquaintances. You will see how dozens of eager people will support your rewarding challenge.
You can also create your help network in order to find donors by using the phone, email, etc… Donors could be:

DONATION
-We consider a reasonable minimum donation amount of £5 per person per month.
- The donation will be paid by using a Standing Order.
What is a Standing Order? Is an instruction a bank account holder gives to their bank to pay a set amount at regular intervals to another account. Examples: TV licence payment, rent…They can be cancelled at the account holder’s request.
This donation payment by Standing Order in favour of Latin Smile-UK could be done by either one of the following options:
- Option 1, The donor will personally give authorisation to his/her bank for the payment by Standing Order.
- Option 2, The donor fills a authorisation Standing Order form, send it via post to Latin Smile-UK and Latin Smile UK handles it to the bank.

B- Donor’s card

This material will be sent to your address in order to make it easier for you.

GETTING HELP FROM LATIN SMILE-UK
We can provide a financial assistance of £10 per week. This money will help you with phone calls, computer use or other payments you need to do at the beginning of the search for possible donors.
There will be a maximum of 8 weeks with a total help of £80.The payment of these £80 will be done:
A- By cheque in your name that will be sent to your address.
B- You will receive it within three working days once we got the signed fund raising cooperation agreement. A copy of this agreement is attached at the end of this document.
YOUR PROFIT 100%
It is simple and easy: if you find a donor that will support us with £10 per month, you will receive £10 plus the 100% of this amount, i.e. £20.
Note: Remember that this will only be valid if the donor does the donation by Standing Order.
Explanations:
A- You will receive your profit only once. Example: if Maria donated £12 you will receive £24 on a one –off basis and not in a repetitive way.
B- You will receive the profit amount at the end of two months counting from the day that the person made effective his donation in our account.
C- If by any chance the donation doesn’t materialise, we will instantly let you know about it and you will not receive any percentage.
D- Earnings will be paid by cheque.
E- It is very important that you let us know the name’s donor and amount via email: [email protected]. The same email address could be used for any questions you may have.
If you do not send us these details we will not be able to know who was the fund-raiser that brought this new donor to our organisation.
F- The commission will be paid if the donor supports the charity at least for a minimum of two months, i.e. if Maria donates £12 the first month but she decides to cancel her standing order, there will be no profit in this case.
G- You will set up your monthly earnings. If you get £50, your profit will be£100.
Confidential ethics regarding disclosure information of your work to other people will be kept at all time.

A wide range of humanitarian activities are implemented on a daily basis by our charity. Among them: preventing alcohol and drug abuse, sexual-transmitted diseases, smoking, providing for assistance in education, health, social welfare and recreation here in United Kingdom and in several countries in Latin America. This tribute campaign is being organised by Latin Smile-UK charity along with The Lottery Fund . It will start in 2009 and will last 12 months.
The main features will consist of the following: distribution of information brochures and free Latin American food boxes, interesting promotional material, conferences on Latin American gastronomy, festivals, and more... All of it taking place in London.
