Artículo X. La diferencia entre la tasa de referencia y la tasa inferior a ella que, discrecional y efectivamente, cobre el acreedor sobre cada uno de los préstamos hipotecarios preferenciales se denomina "tramo preferencial".

El referido tramo preferencial no podrá excder de 4% de los préstamospara vivienda, cuyo valor registrado al momento del financiamiento sea mayor de USD 35,000 y no exceda de USD65,000.00.

@ Rosa I don't agree with rate at all, it's wrong, and I was about to post the answer "preferential margin" myself, but then I saw that David had posted "margin" at 22 minutes, so I thought he had got there first. I think that by convention people's second thoughts in answers are regarded as valid, though I agree this is debatable, since strictly speaking people should really post just one answer and stick to it. "Preferencial" is just a slip. I don't normally withhold agreement for spelling mistakes or typos; I just mention them in the peer comment. But your answer is correct, of course, and in fact "preference margin" is probably better than "preferential margin".

I have to say also that a documented answer is always preferable. Just suggesting a series of possibilities without any explanation is obviously less useful.

I do not understand why Charles agrees with DH (???). It is not rate, but margin, and it is not preferencial, but preferential....
