French term
effacement systolique modéré
French to English
Medical
Medical: Cardiology
Coronary angiography
Hi,
I have the following sentence under the LAD segment:
"Ce segment présente un trajet intramyocardique avec un effacement systolique modéré à ce niveau"
I found that "trajet intramyocardique" is a "myocardial bridge," but I am confused about this "effacement modéré"?
I found "systolic obliteration" but I don't see how an "obliteration can be "moderate"?
Could it be "systolic compression"?
Thanks
Joanna

moderate systolic narrowing
The medical definition of éffacement that Geoff posted actually made me feel better about "systolic narrowing."

Joanne, I'm not sure that "systolic narrowing" is preferable to your original suggestion of "systolic compression." There are plenty of examples of both with regard to myocardial bridging, with more occurrences of "systolic compression."

: The first set of references that come up in a Google search involve the left ventricle rather than the coronary arteries.
