During bypass (summer) operation, in order to control the temperature at the required value and purge the reactor, front gas and quench gas, both from the recycle gas compressor, is used.
The effluent from the Reactor is cooled in the heat exchanger with front gas from the recycle gas compressor. In order to control the inlet temperature of the Reactor, part of the front gas passes through to the heatc exchanger bypass line.
