Also, in a legal context, I would opt for the word cause over reason, as the latter is a word more appropriate for "plain English." I prefer to use plain English normally, but a different vocabulary tends to apply to legal texts.
That said, your choice of vocabulary isn't technically wrong, either. ;-)
