French term
payé comptant à l'instant même par virement
French to English
Law/Patents
Law: Contract(s)
"Le prix ci-dessus fixé, à savoir la somme de _______ euros est payé comptant à l'instant même par virement sur le compte CARPA du séquestre ci-après désigné."
I was under the impression that 'payer comptant' meant 'to pay in cash' and 'payer par virement' meant 'to pay by bank transfer'... can one pay in cash by bank transfer? Or is there another meaning to 'payé comptant'?
Thanks for any help.

paid in full immediately by (bank) transfer

paid wholly and fully without any reservations
Hello
When I bought a house in France, I remember that I paid "comptant" in the French sales act although the money was paid via a bankers cheque
It basically means the idea I've tried to convey, (no reservations, no way to retract) but I'm not so sure if there is a standard phrase in English to say this, hence my medium confidence level.

herewith and forthwith paid spot(-)cash by transfer
parsed: payé comptant / à l'instant même / par virement, rather than payé comptant / à l'instant / même par virement (even by transfer).
spot /cash payment + payment on the spot arguably gets round and diges the cash quandary.
I disbelieve there is any unconditional or unaqualified payment spin on such timing.

and *dodges* the cash quandary.

transfer funds immediately via CARPA (lawyers' financial settlement funds)
CARPA is short for Caisses des règlements pécuniaires des avocats and was created in 1957 by the barreau de Paris to ensure a thorough, safe and traceable management of funds received by lawyers on behalf of, and destined to their clients. Using CARPA for transfers of this kind was enshrined in law in 1985 (l’ordonnance n° 2009–112 du 30 janvier 2009).
It's not a bank transfer! I think that this detail is really critical and needs to be clear in the translation, because it touches upon legal terminology. Therefore a misunderstanding leading to an illegal transfer of funds could result in unknowingly infringing upon the law and could result in penalties.

: And the important 'comptant'? Le paiement comptant est un paiement réalisé en une seule fois. Si l'on vous demande de payer au comptant, comprenez que vous devez verser l'intégralité de la somme

Actually, no. 'Paiement comptant' can be carried out in one or several payments, as Emmanuella aptlly provided a reference for in the Reference Comments. The imporatant part is that 'comptant' means that you don't pay any interest or additional fees.

Discussion
Disagreeing is one thing, but how about a minimum of decorum and fair play when doing so?
If you look at the definition of "payé comptant" that I posted, you will see why I suggested "in full immediately" (with which four experienced peers have agreed).
Whilst I do indeed acknowledge half of your answer (using words expressed differently to my own) as correct, I am not obliged to do so in the agree/disagree/neutral box.
I suggested 7 hours after the question was posted
"paid wholly and fully without any reservations"
I can understand how you might not see how I arrived at this conclusion, which I did not explain well enough as I was tired, but I cannot understand how you can disagree saying
"It doesn't say "sans aucune réserve" in the ST"
and then go on to suggest "paid in full immediately by (bank) transfer"
when the ST does NOT say "paid in full" (payé intégralement) either.
You accepted (and took without giving me any credit) half of my answer which was NOT explicitly said in the ST and then object to the rest on the grounds that... it was NOT said in the ST.
And to be fair, it also (INHO) heavily implies payment more or less "now", else there would indeed be a credit component, but your text has said so anyway, so hey ho.
