registry services director

... at the tribunal d'instance (magistrates'/district court)

I know this is similar to Allegro's answer, but it says 'director', not 'manager' (chef/responsable), and you also have to avoid repeating 'court'.

neutral Daryo : Do you have ANY real-life sample of "services director" used in that meaning in any court? Never heard of any, at least not in UK. / A tip: the judiciary will keep using THEIR jargon, whatever you think of it.

Why are you and Adrian so obsessed with the UK? This is about a French-speaking country.

Superintendent Court Registration Officer

I may be on the wrong track, but the above, albeit confident, answers do not make clear that the court registry is doubling as a register office for births, marriages and deaths.

Rarely does this occur in English Common vs. Civil Law jurisdictions, except e.g. for bills of sale (chattel mortgages of motor vehicles etc.) I have regd. myself at the Royal Courts of Justice on the Strand in London.
Example sentence:

Le directeur des services de greffe judiciaires * est un agent de catégorie A de la fonction publique. Dans les plus importantes fonctions, il est nommé directeur de greffe d'une juridiction.

A bill of sale is a legal document that records the transfer of ownership of an asset. Register or renew bills of sale in the High Court (General Division).

Peer comment(s):

neutral AllegroTrans : Nothing in asker's text suggests the court registry is doubling as a register office for BMD and waffle about bills of sale is hardly relevent to this question; BMD registration in France is at city, town and village halls (mayors' offices)
