plugged

English to Greek Marketing Textiles / Clothing / Fashion
A minute ago the kids’ room was clean and tidy.
You’ve just looked away for a second and when you turn back, literally everything is removed from the wardrobe. Every little sock (always at least 25 pairs not plugged together).

Discussion

transphy Sep 26, 2016:
Ι 'ball' my socks, as Dave's mother used to do(how do you do it Dave?). I, also never heard the expression 'plugged', with regard to socks. There is, however an expression referring to tobacco which is 'plugged' together meaning 'compressed' together. So I guess, with socks, they are 'piled' together', in a haphazard untidy manner. A lot of them just thrown in a drawer, piled up. They are 'plugged' (thrown) in the drawer instead of 'balled', for example.
Dave Bindon Sep 25, 2016:
Unfamiliar usage My family never used 'plugged' for this and I've never heard it used elsewhere. But my mother used to 'ball' the socks, taking two matching socks and folding one inside the other so that the pair would stay together in the drawer.
