Spanish term

mostraron empoderamiento de sus derechos

Spanish to English Other Finance (general) Community development
Source text:

Discussion

Andrea Shah Oct 12, 2018:
Lydianette Soza (asker) Oct 12, 2018:
Tambien podría ser: "demonstrated that they are empowered with their rights"

have shown/gained/taken ownership of their rights

In that sense, one of the most important strategies has concerned the framework of
laws guaranteeing women’s rights, from watching the preparation of bills and lobbying on their writing and approval in legislature, to watching implementation and developing training processes for women so they can take ownership of their rights.
Empowering community members through these dialogues and debates is the beginning of creating an environment where individuals take ownership of their rights and begin not only to understand them, but to also be able to hold appropriate people or institutions accountable.
