I'd like to know what is the English for "ahijada artística". I found "a patron of (the arts)" but I don't think this applies to the idea. I'm translating a web site of a folk singer in Argentina and the sentence in Spanish is: "...XX es ahijada artística del cantante XX...". I would appreciate any help.

: This is the meaning. The idea is that the other singer is her mentor. People have come up with the word mentee to name the person been mentored, but I think it's horrible
