Source text - English Veronika is young and beautiful, she has a good job and a loving family. But Veronika is not happy. There is something missing in her life. One morning of November in 1997 she decides to die. She has an overdose of sleeping pills and wakes up after a while in Vilete, a local hospital. There she is told that her heart is damaged and that she has couple days left. During those days Veronika realizes that every moment of life are consequences of the choice between life and death.
Translation - Portuguese Veronika é bonita e jovem, ela tem um bom trabalho e uma familia amorosa. Mas Veronika nãe é feliz. Há algo faltando em sua vida.Numa manhã de novembro do ano de 1997 ela decide morrer.Ela tem uma overdose de sonífero- e acorda depois de algum tempo em Vilete, um hospital local.Lá eles dizem para ela que seu coracao está falhando e que ela tem poucos dias de vida. Durante esses dias Veronika percebe que todos momentos da vida são consequencias da escolha entre a vida e a morte.

Translation - Finnish Veronika on nuori ja kaunis, hänellä on hyvä työpaikka ja rakastava perhe. Veronika ei kuitenkaan ole onnellinen. Hänen elämäastään puuttuu jotain. Eräänä marraskuisena aamuna vuonna 1997 hän päättää kuolla. Hän ottaa yliannoksen unilääkkeitä – ja herää jonkin ajan kuluttua Viletessä paikallisessa sairaalassa. Siellä hänelle kerrotaan, että hänen sydämessä on vauriotunut ja hänella on vain muutama päivä elinaikaa. Näiden päivien aikana Veronika ymmärtää, että kaikki elämön hetke ovat seurasta tietoisesta valinnasta elämän ja kuoleman välillä.
