I was very skeptical when I joined ProZ.com in December of last year, but a friend/colleague convinced me, and I have to say that being a member really pays! I have found 4 or 5 new clients in just 5 months of membership.

Of all the annual investments Monica and I make, ProZ.com membership is arguably the most valuable. Every year, our membership generates new business contacts which result in tangible job opportunities... ProZ.com membership is a definite thumbs up!

I have been working as a translator for a number of years and have been using ProZ.com as an aid on numerous occasions. I came to the point of considering myself completely hooked on it. It made my life easier when in desperate need of immediate consultation. It is easy to use and gives you immediate response when certain translation-related issues arise and need to be promptly addressed. It gives me the opportunity to interrelate with others that are in the same field and exchange ideas and ask questions to a panel of experts which in most occasions give me real-time feedback. ProZ.com can also be considered an excellent channel for getting to know potential clients and establish new working relationships that may significantly increase your chances of consolidating new contracts. It’s a great place to share your knowhow with others while at the same time benefiting yourself from the experience of others. This site is a must for anyone who intends pursuing this line of profession.

When I started freelancing almost ten years ago, I used a variety of methods to reach out to potential clients. I placed an ad in the local yellow pages (no lead whatsoever), I sent out hundreds of emails to translation agencies (this landed me a couple of jobs), but by far the most efficient way of promotion was using the features that are available on ProZ.com.

The investment in membership has consistently paid itself off, both through new clients and perhaps even more importantly access to the Blue Board.

While I have been part of the community for more than five years, I just became a member last month. I cannot believe how many contacts I have made since becoming a (paying) member... I have three new clients and these are some of the best clients I have ever had.

This past year has been great. I woke up one morning deciding to go back to translating full time but I was not 100% sure that my decision was the right one. Je ne peux pas dire dans quelle proportion mon CA a augmenté suite à mon adhésion car j'ai pratiquement démarré mon activité freelance il y quelques années grâce à Proz. Ou alors il faut dire de 0 à 100% ! car mes premiers clients, je les ai trouvés sur Proz. Ma cotisation était payée (largement) dès mon premier contrat.
