Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to present the latest news on the 10th Scientific and Professional Medical Translation Conference, organised by Tremédica and AGPTI. We suggest that you take a deep breath so that you can open your appointment books and be inspired by their essence!

Firstly, as you may have seen on the different social networks, you can now check out the abstracts and speakers for the plenary sessions on the conference pages. The call for paper proposals was closed on 30 January. We are only waiting to receive the opinion of the scientific committee and, very shortly, the final programme will be released. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the people who have sent us their proposals, to the scientific committee in charge of appraising them, and to the speakers in the plenary sessions. Together we are designing a dramatic programme!

We have also launched a section on our web pages for any individuals or entities interested in providing their cooperation for the conference. There you will find a detailed description of the different sponsorship categories and other forms of collaboration, as well as the recompense we can offer. As you are well aware, Tremédica and AGPTI are not-for-profit associations, and the conferences are financed through registration fees and the contributions of those committed to continuous professional training. You can send an email to [email protected] if you wish to contribute towards this end. Any contribution will be welcome and rewarded.

Talking about professional training, thanks to the kind offer of the School of Languages and Translation to lend us the equipment, the interpreting students will be able to do voluntary practices on the first two days of the conference and bring it to you in four languages: Spanish, Galician, English and French. Moreover, Fernando Navarro will be presenting the third edition of his Diccionario de dudas y dificultades de traducción del inglés médico in the School in the morning. What about getting off to an early start filling up your agenda and softening your seat?

We remind you that the registration deadline is 15 February! Apart from the juicy programme, which is almost ready, you do not want to miss the opportunity to discover Vigo, a unique coastal, industrial, university city with a vibrant cultural life.
