I know 'amortización' sometimes has the sense of 'depreciation' and sometimes 'repayment', but in the following context, how would it best be translated?
"La compañía contabiliza los costes satisfechos a empresas independientes para la obtención de una patente. La amortización de los mismos se realiza a 4 años. En caso de ser saldos pocos significativos se realiza una amortización acelerada del 100%."
