English term

provision

English Law/Patents Law (general) Estate
The context: We instruct you to represent us in an attempt to obtain further provision out of Mr. X's estate.

What is provision in this context? Money, court ruling?

Thanks in advance.

In this case, almost certainly money

"Making provision" for somebody in a will means leaving them money, or occasionally saleable assets, or a house to live in. Here I think it is money.
