adverse possession plan/map

The English equivalent of "usucapión" with regard to real property is "adverse possession" ("prescription" refers to personal property).

Adverse possession is a doctrine under which a person in possession of land owned by someone else may acquire a valid title to that land. All states require that certain conditions be met before a claim of adverse possession can be made. Possession must be:

Continuous - the party must use the land without any interruptions of time during the statutory period
Hostile - the property is not used with the permission of the owner
Open - the person must not secretly possess the land; however, the owner is not required to actually know that someone is on their land
Actual - must be physically present on the land
Time - must possess the land for the time required by statute
Exclusive - must be possessed by the person seeking claim on the land and not by anyone else, including the true owner

Presumably, this is a map showing the boundaries of the land acquired by adverse possession.

agree Adrian MM. : - except that prescription is also used in ENG land law for a time limit. Query: a drawing showing extent of squatter's rights https://www.proz.com/kudoz/spanish-to-english/law-general/85... adverse possession also per West.

Thanks, Adrian. I've just looked at this again to check my references and it seems I mis-remembered "prescripción" as "personal property"; it's actually "intangible property" (according to J. Becerra), i.e., easements, etc.

LEVEL OF USUCAPTION/ACQUISITIVE PRESCRIPTION

https://www.arinaslaw.com/post/property-ownership-by-acquisi... Acquisitive Prescription – the Acquisition of Ownership by Possession Through the Lapse of Time
What is acquisitive prescription?
Acquisitive prescription is a mode of acquiring ownership by a possessor through the requisite lapse of time.[1] The Supreme Court (SC) explained it clearly in Arzadon-Crisologo v. Rañon[2], to wit:

It is concerned with lapse of time in the manner and under conditions laid down by law, namely, that the possession should be in the concept of an owner, public, peaceful, uninterrupted and adverse. Possession is open when it is patent, visible, apparent, notorious and not clandestine. It is continuous when uninterrupted, unbroken and not intermittent or occasional; exclusive when the

acquisitive prescription map

El significado de «usucapión» corresponde al de «acquisitive prescription»:

«Acquisition of property or other real rights, on the basis of a long or indefinite period of uninterrupted use or of long-standing custom». (https://iate.europa.eu/search/result/1643909969640/1)

Al «plano de usucapión» se lo conoce como «acquisitive prescription map».

«There are situations when the so called “acquisitive prescription map”, prepared by a licensed land surveyor, showing the area being the subject of the petition and the state of cadastral boundaries as of the day of acquiring the ownership right, is necessary».
