Thank you. I've found more information on this now: a 'forcible apex beat' and a 'heaving apical impulse' are both said to 'lift' the palpating finger.

neutral Jiri Lonsky : I don't think "palpable" corresponds to "zvedavý". "Lifting" is a particular deviation from the typical apex beat
