My name is Maria Corbett. I'm Hungarian, born in the Former Yugoslavia. Finished high school in Serbia, University in Bosnia.
I've been working as a Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian and Hungarian interpreter and translator for 19 years in Australia (18 years in Sydney and the last one year on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane), but before that I also worked as a translator in the former Yugoslavia, in the Film Department of Television Novi Sad, where I did subtitling and dubbing for 7 years.
My former qualifications are: a BA degree in English Language and Literature and a BA degree in German Lanugauge and Literature.
In Australia I have also completed courses in advanced interpreting, medical terminology, legal terminlogy etc.
Most of my experience is in the medical and legal field.
I have also done tape transcriptions for the NSW Police.
I am a member of AUSIT.
