I have 15 years of English into Arabic and Arabic into English translation experience. I have been awarded the degree of Bachelor of Translation from Ain Shams University, Faculty of Alsun (Translation), and I am as well certified by the Arab Translators Association.
As the official legal translator of the US Administration of Justice Support Project in Egypt in 1998-2000, I translated over 10000 legal documents from English into Arabic, and vice versa, and accompanied the American team in more than 1000 visits to the Egyptian courts as their official interpreter. I was also given the opportunity of translating for the Baker and Mackenzie law office in Egypt on a freelance basis for over three years.
I was Managing Editor of PC World Egypt magazine in the period between 2001-2003. This is the Arabic version of the leading computer and electronics magazine PC World US. In my capacity as Managing Editor, I reviewed and edited a huge number of IT articles, and translated a lot myself.
From July 2003 till July 2006, I was Managing editor of Egypt Today (Arabic), the leading current events magazine in Egypt. This is the Arabic version of Egypt Today magazine, which again involves a great deal of general, social, political, and economic translation.
I have been working as a full time freelance translator since 2006, providing services to leading US agencies. Latest projects included translating medical and marketing materials for the Washington University Medical Centre, the Henry Ford Hospital Website, Joint Commission International Website, Bidz.com website, and ongoing translation for the University of Pennsylvania.
