I learned Japanese first during a 5 month intensive Japanese language course at the Institute of Language and Culture at Hokkaido University when I went to Japan for doctoral studies in Mechanical Engineering through a Monbusho fellowship grant from the Japanese ministry of education from 1988 to 1994.

I have been translating and interpreting since 1990, my third year in Japan, as Japanese faculty and staff of Hokkaido University requested me to do the translations of technical papers for presentation in international conferences and symposia.

When I returned to the Philippines to resume my teaching job at Mindanao State University, I continued to accept translation and interpretation services. I have translated a broad range of documents: from engineering, physics, production and manufacturing manuals, user manuals, safety manuals, ISO documentation, legal documents, finance, software documentation, website content and even personal letters and more.

My work in Japanese firms from 2000 to 2007 as administrative manager, production manager and documentation and translation specialist further honed my knowledge and skills in translation and interpretation, particularly on manufacturing, production, human resource, training, software development and website content.

I am now based in Florida as a teacher of mathematics in a middle school but I am currently receiving translation jobs from translation outsourcers based in Japan and the Philippines through email. In fact, several customers of translation agencies I served has specifically asked that the translation jobs they outsourced be assigned to me as a result of trial translations sent to various translation companies and also as a result of previous translation jobs that I have done through the Japanese translation companies.
