I was playing around with Google Trends while redesigning my website, and out of curiosity, I tested a few search terms related to the translation industry to see how popular they were. Here's what the tool came up with.
The GT graphs show the relative popularity of a search term compared to the total volume of all searches in a given time period.
While you may find the yellow line scary, take a look at the other lines and their behavior... What are they telling us?

Translation scams can come from anywhere.
Maybe check "ai translator combined with a cheap proofreader/polisher", let's see how that one goes.

The translation "industry" (I prefer the word "profession") seems to be largely populated by people who want it to die and are always looking for evidence.

And the graphs show what's the reality (= no dead of the profession or industry).
Actually, many search terms for translation services show an upward trend.

That is excellent research Zea, very useful!!!
BTW LLM are in essence Transformer models, which were created initially for MT (progression from standard neural).

Here you go. Just, "machine translation" is a more broader search term, also used when searching for information on MT.
Again, on Google Trends graphs:
Interest over time
Numbers represent search interest relative to the highest point on the chart for the given region and time. A value of 100 is the peak popularity for the term. A value of 50 means that the term is half as popular. A score of 0 means there was not enough data for this term.
