Dear colleagues,

can someone of you tell me how much you take for "post editing". I have never done this before. I think it's more or less after a machine translation, that you try to rearrange the text. How far is it from proofreading, also the rate. You charge it like proofreading or more like a translation or by the hour? How many words can be done a day by post editing?

thank you for your help in this matter

Noe

Post-editing rates Jun 28, 2021

Hi there!

I've tried to click the links below but they're not working for me. I'm also being asked to quote for post-editing rates and I've no idea what to quote, would someone mind giving some advice? My language pair is German into English.

Many thanks

Well Jun 28, 2021

2-3x your proofreading rate.

Fair would be 3x, but they'll probably refuse to pay you more than 2.something.
