Hello,

Apology if this question has been asked but I couldn't find the answer easily.

What is the going rate you charge (those of you who live in North America) for Japanese-ENG relayed interpretation? In hourly rate?

Are you a certified interpreter at your local society of translators?

Hello,

Apology if this question has been asked but I couldn't find the answer easily.

What is the going rate you charge (those of you who live in North America) for Japanese-ENG relayed interpretation? In hourly rate?

Are you a certified interpreter at your local society of translators?

In Canada, I couldn't find what the rate is for certified interpreters;
I know "what you can charge is the price" is the answer but it has to make some sense.

Search results give me: $40 - $100/hr or more
which is a wide range.

I'm asking because I was asked to give a quote but I don't get to do interpretation often. Since I'm not certified I'm thinking 10% less than a certified interpreter's rate would be reasonable, perhaps.

One issue is, it can potentially be long hours, 10 hours or so because it will be interpreting for people on a movie set.
Do you think I should insist there should be more than one interpreter?
My intuition tells me definitely yes.

Anyone experienced in this area I'd appreciate some feedback.
It can be in any language pair.

Thanks so much.
