If you are a holder of Version 5.0 of Adobe Acrobat you can store the pdf-file as rtf-file, from where a text-count is easily possible. Should the pdf-file be read/write-protected ask the author/provider to send you an open file or the password. This usually works fine. Kind Regards Marcel | |

You can see the count of a PowerPoint file with a right-click on the file involved and (in the last tab, Resumen in Spanish). | | |

With Powerpoint, you click on properties and you see the wordcount. | |

A quick \'n\' dirty way of counting the words in a PDF is as follows:
1. Choose Continuous from the View menu in Acrobat Reader.
2. Press CTRL+A to select all the text.
3. Press CTRL+C to copy the text to the Clipboard.
4. Paste the text from the Clipboard into a blank Word document and count the words.
