Which machine translation software is effective translating general texts from German into Ukrainian? Better than the Google translator?

I have been hearing that in general DeepL is much better than GT...

You quote my comment, which makes me think that your last comment is addressed to me? If yes, I am aware of the OPUS CAT MT Engine. I use it on a daily basis. However it has some shortcomings: it involves a complicated installation and setup process; also it requires fine-tuning with your own TMX files because its starter quality is pretty low (at least in my language pair). That is why I did not mention it in my reply. On the other hand Intento offers its MT service for free. That is why I mentioned it in my reply.
Igor asked for smth better than Google. That's why Teresa Borges reasonably suggested DeepL which is better than GT indeed. I don't know if the Intento's MT is better than GT, but it is an alternative as a minimum.
If Igor is ready for fiddling with OPUS setup and has a TMX memory big enough to fine-tune it, then yes, it can be another alternative too. OPUS CAT is a very good tool. I agree.

It was not easy to find engine last year. Now it is easy.

(The Tatoeba MT Challenge)

In ZIP file is plugin for OmegaT. I can copy it to sub-folder "plugin" and it is all.
After lunching OmegaT I can download models which I want.

Another plugins: chromeAddin, memoQPlugin, tradosPlugins. Maybe the installation is more complicated.

I am using eTranslation service.

I haven't tested the quality of the translation.
