I am an American citizen and native English speaker. I've translated three books and dozens of short stories (Spanish, French, and Mandarin into English). My original short story "Tbilisi" was awarded the PEN/Dau Award for Emerging Writers and was also nominated for a Pushcart.
For the past few years I've specialized mostly in literary translations, but I do also work frequently in international law and geopolitics.
Educational Background:
I graduated from Columbia University with a BA in Linguistics and Psychology and then received a translation certificate from the accredited program at NYU SCPS (Spanish > English, French > English) with a specialization in commercial and legal documents.
I passed the HSK 6 (highest level of Chinese proficiency) in 2021.
I also worked as a graduate researcher at New York University in the field of Cognitive Science, where I became very familiar with the language of clinical trials and academia.
Over the last ten years, I have lived and worked in the US, Nicaragua, Spain, China (7+ years), Korea (6+ years), and Indonesia.
